Tracking my wanderlust need to get out of town once a month Track my O progress here

11 February 2004
Mike's Big Day! We went up the big hill to Kepler Cascades, then continued on to Lone Star geyser. It was a beautiful day, and once we started on the road to Lone Star, the track was great. We followed our pattern from yesterday (drink and rest) although we couldn't often find places to sit in the deep snow. We stopped for lunch at Lone Star, and were about to leave, when someone told us it was scheduled to erupt. I'm glad we stayed; it was a spectacular geyser. There was some tricky skiing just after lunch (I had a frustration meltdown when I couldn't ski as well as I wanted to) but after that it was great trip. We were out for 6 hours, and moved for half the time.
