Mike and I met Gene at Rockcrusher today. Gene set a nice course, but I had difficulties. The contour features are more subtle than shown on the map, and I could tell I was out of O practice. I went very slowly, because I constantly had to stop and look around to confirm where I was and what I was seeing. I was definitely reacting today, instead of being proactive and knowing what was coming next. I was disappointed, but at least I can practice and try to improve.

I was able to do two things today: I got lots of practice following a straight compass line, since I had such difficulties with the contours; and I jogged in the woods, conditions permitting. (I'd forgotten how thorny Rockcrusher can be.) I was out for 100 minutes.
