Tracking my wanderlust need to get out of town once a month Track my O progress here

10 March 2002
Mike, Dick, Dave Frei, Eric Buckley and I did some technique training at Wyandotte today. First, I was out for about 30 minutes hanging markers for a control picking course. Then I went training on my own.
I decided that I needed to move at a constant steady rate, as if it was an important O competition. I chose to do a yellow course today because my legs were so tired from yesterday. My goal was to keep moving, even jogging downhills through the woods. I also wanted to flow smoothly from control to control, with no stopping to read the map. I met all these goals. The only disappointment was that I could not move quickly. The horse trails were gooey mud, and the steep reentrants were filled with downed trees. Of course the main problem was that my legs were just dead. I spent 42 minutes on the course.
I have been tracking the total minutes of exercise I do each week (Sun through Sat). I'm going to try to exceed my cumulative average training minutes for two weeks in a row, then ease back on the third week. I probably don't need the physical break on week three, but it will help mentally. Last week the cum. average was 152 minutes, and I exercised for 177 minutes. Now the average is 153 minutes. I'm going to track my weekly training time (TT) at the end of each blog entry.
TT=72
