There was a PTOC meet at Tall Oaks today. The weather was beautiful again, and Kevin set some excellent courses. There was a huge turn out of orienteers and geocachers, so the registration area was a mess. In addition, they were trying to use a computer to start people (inside). Not a good situation. They eventually used paper and pencil to track results.

The course was 6.7 K, longer than my usual. I tried to keep a steady pace, just a bit below my maximum effort. I did not want to bonk at the end. Plus, the woods at Tall Oaks are very junky, which I knew would tire my legs. So I walked most of the course.

I was pleased with my navigation. No big mistakes, and I did a decent job of planning ahead and anticipating the terrain. I ran 13:56/K while Mike was 7:17/K. A decent day in the woods.
