Time to check my progress. I took my resting HR and step test today. I was hoping to take them around the first of every month, but I was delayed this month. First I was sick, then the Relays. So, I finally took the measurements today.

Resting HR = 70, step test = 119.

No improvement in the resting HR, slight improvement in step test. About what I expected. I could tell that I had made some gains in fitness in the last five weeks: I can feel some muscle tone in my quads, and I look like I'm running when I jog, rather than just a slow shuffle (acording to Mike).

I plan to add a new dimension to my training each month. Last month, I tried to get in to the habit of doing some aerobic exercise, just 20 minutes a day, 3 days a week.

This month, I will continue with the basic aerobic schedule, but will include more running. Also, I will add stretching and weight lifting on the alternate days.
