A few weeks ago, I noticed that my lower back was stiff for a few days following some tough O runs (usually on hills). I have never had back problems, and I didn't want to start now. Since then, I've been doing sit-ups every day. I started with 10 crunches each on the upper, lower and both sides abs. Every other week, I increase the number by 5. I'm up to 25 crunches (100 total) every day. I haven't seen much improvement in my waistline yet, but I haven't had any back pains since I started doing the sit-ups.
